How to check your Cursor usage and limits

Cursor shows your usage on its usage dashboard, cursor.com/dashboard/usage, and in the editor settings. Pro, Pro Plus and Ultra include an amount of model usage in two pools, Cursor Models and Other Models, which reset with your monthly billing cycle; past it, on-demand usage continues at the same API rates. Start, the plan for India, covers only the Cursor Models pool, with no on-demand usage.

Cursor counts in money rather than in messages: on the plans that include them, third-party models draw on your included usage at their API price, plus a Cursor Token Rate of $0.25 per million tokens on Teams and Enterprise, so the model you pick decides how fast the month empties. Here is where to read what is left, what each plan includes, and when the counter starts again.

Checked on , against Cursor's pricing page, documentation and help center, listed under Sources. Cursor changes its plans and model line-up often: the pages linked below are the reference.

The usage dashboard

Open cursor.com/dashboard/usage while signed in. The pools your plan includes are visible there and in the editor settings: Cursor Models and Other Models on Pro, Pro Plus and Ultra, Cursor Models only on Start. On Teams and Enterprise plans, admins see usage across the organization in the Admin Dashboard.

Cursor does not state the included amount of each plan in dollars on these pages. It gives an order of magnitude instead: daily Agent users typically reach $60 to $100 of total usage a month, and power users running several agents often $200 or more.

When the cycle resets

Your billing cycle starts on the date you subscribed and renews monthly or yearly, depending on your plan. Included usage resets with it: monthly on individual plans, Cursor says, and per paid seat each cycle on Teams. Beyond the included amount, Pro, Pro Plus and Ultra can add on-demand usage at the same API rates, billed in arrears, or move to a higher plan; Start has no on-demand usage. Cursor says requests are never downgraded in quality or speed.

On Teams and Enterprise, every request to a third-party model also carries a Cursor Token Rate of $0.25 per million tokens, on top of the model's API price, whether it draws on included usage, on-demand usage or your own API key (BYOK). It applies when Auto routes to a third-party model too. Cursor's own models, Grok and Composer, are exempt.

Several tools at once

Cursor's dashboard shows Cursor. If you also code with Claude Code or Codex, their limits live elsewhere, with windows of five hours and a week rather than a month: see how to check your Claude usage and how to check your Codex usage.

Quotum, an AI usage tracker for the Mac menu bar, puts them side by side: the monthly cycle of the account signed in to Cursor's default profile next to your Claude Code and Codex windows, with the share used, when each resets, and how long ago each figure was measured. A Cursor started with another data folder is not read.

The trial is free, lasts fourteen days and covers the first two lines of the panel. Launch price: €4.99, then €9.99. Reading a provider's quota from a third-party app is not something the provider provides for: the pricing page explains the risk before any purchase.
